Aggregates play a significant role in the construction industry. They can be used for drainage, sub-bases, filling, mixing mortar, foundations, decorative purposes and much more.
On average, we recommend around 50mm. We also recommend not using smaller decorative stones (10mm or less) on driveways as they typically get stuck in tyres and shoe tread causing a mess. Try to avoid laying the stone too deep as this will result in sinking into the surface and making it difficult to walk on and too shallow will result in the sub base being exposed.
A weed membrane fabric will help prevent weeds from growing through the stones. You might also need to dig out then compact a sub base (typically mot type-1 is used) if the area will be exposed to heavy traffic.
